Qualifications

• High school graduate required.
• Less than 1 year 6 months experience in a clinical setting or phlebotomy is acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Performs blood draws by venipuncture per protocol and ensures patient safety.
• Performs specimen collection using correct techniques and provides instructions to patients.
• Manages labeling, barcoding and specimen transport according to procedures.
• Performs data entry in HIS/LIS and handles outside orders as needed.
• Provides assistance to nursing staff and consults supervisors when needed.
• Maintains inventory of supplies and ensures proper container types and conditions.
• Responds to inquiries and delivers patient-focused service.
• Mentors students and other staff as applicable.
