Job summary

The University of Kansas Health System is seeking a Phlebotomist to join the clinical laboratory. You will perform blood draws, prepare specimens, and ensure proper labeling and patient identification in both ambulatory and inpatient settings.

This full-time role requires high school diploma and completion of a phlebotomy program or relevant experience, with English proficiency and strong customer service. Shifts are M-F, 8:30am–5pm, with a focus on accuracy, safety, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate
• Completion of a phlebotomy program or 1+ years of specimen collection experience
• Fluent English with ability to read and follow lab procedures

Responsibilities

• Performs venipuncture and collects specimens following protocol
• Labels specimens and ensures proper patient identification
• Troubleshoots orders and assists with add-on testing
• Provides customer service and supports nursing staff as needed
• Maintains inventory and processes requests in LIS/HIS
