Job summary

Actalent in Salem, OR is seeking a Phlebotomist to obtain and prepare specimens for laboratory testing, verify patient identity, perform venipuncture, and document in the EMR in a fast-paced clinical setting.

The candidate should have at least 1 year of phlebotomy experience, with externship completion after a phlebotomy program if applicable, and ASCP certification preferred. This is a contract-to-hire, onsite role with benefits.

Qualifications

• Phlebotomy training with venipuncture experience required.

Responsibilities

• Verify patient identity and requisitions before collection.
• Perform venipuncture and specimen collection.
• Label, handle, and transport specimens accurately.
• Document collection data in the EMR.
• Organize specimens and lab reports for processing.
• Maintain QC logs and inventory.
• Assist with bone marrow collection procedures.
• Provide post-procedure instructions.
• Support waived testing under supervision.
• Communicate discrepancies to providers.
• Comply with laboratory policies and OSHA regulations.
