Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is seeking a clinical assistant responsible for drawing blood, performing in-house testing, and preparing specimens for reference lab processing. The role operates Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM at 1601 W Hebron Pkwy, Carrollton, TX.

Responsibilities include venipuncture, specimen labeling, lab testing, patient instructions for urine collection, and data entry in the lab system. Required are a high school diploma or GED, 2+ years of related experience, 6+ months experience

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; ability to obtain certification within 180 days
• 2+ years of related experience in clinical settings
• 6+ months experience performing routine blood and urine tests
• 6+ months experience with equipment testing to perform quality control checks
• Basic level of computer literacy required

Responsibilities

• Prepares equipment for blood collection
• Performs venipuncture and capillary punctures; labels specimens
• Conducts designated laboratory testing
• Instructs patients on urine collection and handles specimens
• Cleans and sterilizes equipment and work area; inventories supplies
• Enters laboratory data into computer systems; maintains confidentiality
