Job summary

UnitedHealth Group, including WellMed, is seeking a capable Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist to perform venipuncture, in-house testing, and specimen handling at our North Richland Hills location. This role supports patient care and laboratory operations in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include preparing equipment, performing tests, maintaining accuracy in data entry, and ensuring confidentiality. Candidates with relevant certifications and 1+ year experience are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• National certification as Medical Assistant or Phlebotomist, or ability to obtain within 180 days of employment.
• 1+ year of related experience.
• 6+ months of experience performing routine blood and urine tests.
• 6+ months of experience in equipment and testing to perform quality control checks.
• Basic computer literacy.

Responsibilities

• Prepare equipment for venipuncture and specimen collection.
• Perform venipuncture and capillary sampling on patients; label specimens.
• Conduct designated laboratory tests as required.
• Instruct patients on urine collection procedures.
• Maintain equipment cleanliness and sterilization; ensure inventory and supplies.
• Enter data into computer system and maintain patient confidentiality.
