Job summary

Medical City Dallas is seeking a Phlebotomist to perform blood collection and related tasks in a fast-paced laboratory setting. You will greet patients, perform finger sticks, venipunctures, and label specimens for accurate processing.

Data entry into the laboratory information system is required, along with preparing samples for microbiology, hematology, serology, and urinalysis workflows. The role supports clerical duties and requires a commitment to safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Must have or be willing to obtain BLS within 30 days of hire.
• Phlebotomy experience preferred; certification may substitute for experience.
• Acute care hospital experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and instruct them in proper specimen collection methods.
• Draw blood specimens by finger sticks, heelsticks, or venipunctures and collect other specimens as required.
• Label specimens for identification and enter data into the computer.
• Prepare samples for microbiology, hematology, serology, blood bank, and urinalysis departments.
• Assist with clerical duties by answering telephone calls.
