Job summary

Mass General Brigham's Spaulding Hospital-Cambridge location is seeking a dedicated phlebotomist to collect and process blood specimens for laboratory testing. The role supports patient care with supervised responsibilities and training for new staff and students while ensuring accurate labeling, handling, and transport of specimens.

Qualified candidates will have a High School Diploma, 1–2 years of phlebotomy experience, and a preference for Phlebotomy Technician certification.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• 1–2 years of phlebotomy experience required.
• Phlebotomy Technician certification preferred.
• Ability to follow HIPAA and provide patient-friendly care.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Obtain quality blood samples using phlebotomy methods across age groups.
• Ensure accurate patient identification, labeling, processing and transport.
• Assist in patient care during emergencies as needed.
• Educate new staff and students as assigned.
• Maintain safety with sharps and biohazard materials per regulations.
• Operate computer systems and HIPAA compliant workflows.
• Troubleshoot specimen and order issues.
