Job Description:
- The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) interacts directly with patients, drawing blood samples and preparing specimens for lab testing following established procedures.
- Creates a trustworthy environment, explains procedures, and performs blood draws safely, accurately, and skillfully.
- Demonstrates leadership behaviors, focuses on process excellence, and maintains confidentiality and accuracy of patient information.
- May be assigned to a doctor's office, patient service center, or other locations based on business needs.
- Performs daily activities accurately and timely under supervision, maintaining a safe and professional environment.
- Handles forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing, verifying patient demographic information and labels.
- Maintains records and documentation, and promotes a positive image to all stakeholders.
Job Requirements:
- Ability to produce quality, error-free work in a fast-paced setting.
- Independence in work with minimal supervision.
- Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed.
- Adherence to policies, safety standards, and company principles.
- Good judgment and decision-making skills.
- Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and clean driving record if applicable.
- Willingness to travel and work flexible hours across multiple locations.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in high-volume environments.
- Strong customer focus and effective communication skills.
- Training location may vary.
Required Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred, required in CA, NV, WA.
Work Experience:
- At least 3 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
- Preferably 2+ years in a Patient Service Center environment.
- Experience in customer service and data entry.
Additional Details:
- 2+ years of phlebotomy and processing experience preferred.
