Job Description

• The Phlebotomist Patient Services Representative (PSR II) represents the face of our company to patients who come in, either as part of their health routine or for insights into life-defining health decisions.
• The PSR II draws quality blood samples from patients and prepares those specimens for lab testing, following established practices and procedures.
• Creates an atmosphere of trust and confidence by explaining procedures to patients and drawing blood specimens in a skillful, safe, and accurate manner.
• Demonstrates leadership behaviors with a focus on process excellence, confidentiality, and accuracy of patient information.
• May be assigned to a doctor's office, patient service center, or other locations as needed.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the supervision of the area supervisor.
• Maintain a safe and professional environment.
• Perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing following established practices.
• Verify patient demographic information and initials, ensuring proper labeling and patient verification.
• Maintain required records and documentation.
• Promote a positive image and demonstrate organizational commitment to patients and staff.

Job Requirements

• Ability to produce quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
• Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed.
• Adherence to all policies and procedures, including dress code and safety protocols.
• Good judgment and decision-making skills based on established procedures.
• Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and a clean driving record if applicable.
• Willingness to travel and work at multiple locations with short notice.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.
• Superior customer focus and effective communication skills.
• Training locations may vary based on trainer availability.

Required Education

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Medical training such as medical assistant or paramedic preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred, required in California, Nevada, and Washington.

Work Experience

• Minimum three years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
• Preferred two years in a Patient Service Center environment.
• Experience in customer service in retail or service environments is preferred.
• Keyboard/data entry experience.

Additional Job Details
