Responsibilities

• Performs various specimen collection techniques using standard collection devices.
• Instructs patients on proper preparation and collection for tests and distributes collection containers when needed.
• Processes specimens for testing: identifying, sorting, aliquoting, centrifuging, and labeling.
• Checks laboratory specimens and requisition forms for accuracy.
• Submits requisitions and orders tests in multiple laboratory systems.
