Job summary

Atrius Health is seeking a Lab Associate in Quincy, MA to collect blood and non-blood specimens and support laboratory processing. You will verify orders, prepare collection materials, and ensure specimen integrity while engaging with patients in a calm, informative manner.

This full-time role requires a high school diploma and phlebotomy training, with strong EPA safety practices and proficiency in LIS/EMR systems.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Phlebotomy training program preferred.
• PBT certification preferred.
• 1+ year phlebotomy experience preferred.
• AHA BLS certification beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Collect blood specimens via venipuncture, finger sticks, or heel sticks.
• Collect non-blood specimens such as urine and sputum.
• Verify test requisitions for accuracy before collection.
• Assemble tourniquets, needles, and collection devices per test.
• Identify patients and explain procedures to reduce anxiety.
• Label, store, and transport specimens for processing.
• Maintain equipment and assist with QA/QC activities.
• Assist in training interns and new staff as needed.
• Follow PPE protocols and safety procedures at all times.

Phlebotomy Technical Training Program

Phlebotomy Technician (PBT) certification

American Heart Association BLS
