Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Phlebotomist to join our Evanston, IL team. The role involves collecting blood samples from patients of all ages, performing data entry, processing billing details, and ensuring accurate specimen handling. Travel to additional sites may be required.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, a phlebotomy certificate or training, and related experience. Bilingual English/Spanish and exceptional customer service skills are highly valued.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Phlebotomy certification or completed training program or 3 months or more experience as a phlebotomist.
• In lieu of work experience, a Phlebotomy certification or completed training program must come from an accredited agency.
• 1 year or more Pediatric experience
• Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service
• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment
• Reliable transportation
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
• Bilingual English/Spanish

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests etc.
• Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
• Process billing information and collect payments as necessary
• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs
• Provide superior customer service to all patients
• Administrative and clerical duties as necessary
• Travel to additional sites when needed
