Job summary

Labcorp is hiring a Phlebotomist in Tacoma, WA to perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all ages, handle specimen preparation, and ensure accurate data entry and billing tasks. You will travel to additional sites as needed and provide excellent patient service.

The role requires a valid Washington State phlebotomy license, with preference for candidates who have 3+ months of phlebotomy experience and 6+ months at Labcorp.

Qualifications

• Valid Washington State-issued Phlebotomy License.
• 3+ months of phlebotomy experience.
• 6+ months of Labcorp phlebotomy experience.
• In lieu of state license requirement listed above, an application for a phlebotomy license filed with the WA Department of Health at time of hire may meet license requirement.
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test.
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups.
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests etc.
• Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner.
• Process billing information and collect payments when required.
• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis.
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs.
• Provide superior customer service to all patients.
• Administrative and clerical duties as necessary.
• Travel to additional sites when needed.
