Job summary

CommonSpirit Health is seeking a Phlebotomist to perform blood collection and specimen processing, ensuring high-quality samples and compassionate patient care. You will confidently obtain and process specimens via capillary or venipuncture, maintain specimen integrity, and support timely distribution to testing areas while prioritizing patient comfort.

You will adhere to lab collection turnaround times, demonstrate excellent attention to detail, and communicate effectively within the department

Qualifications

• High School Graduation or GED required.
• Basic Life Support - CPR within 90 days.
• 3 months phlebotomy in an acute care facility preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follows blood collection procedures, performs venous and capillary punctures on all age groups of inpatient and outpatient populations.
• Utilizes appropriate collection techniques to obtain quality samples and adheres to volume requirements.
• Performs Blood Bank collections and follows written collection and Blood Bank banding procedures.
• Maintains order and cleanliness of phlebotomy trays, stations and storage rooms.
