Job summary

Northwest Texas Healthcare System in Amarillo is seeking a Phlebotomist to perform venipunctures, capillary blood collection, and POCT under supervision. You will assist in training phlebotomy students and new staff, contributing to the department's smooth operation within a large hospital.

Requirements include high school graduation, a phlebotomy program (preferred), and current BLS certification. The role emphasizes accurate specimen handling and adherence to regulatory standards in a busy lab

Qualifications

• High school graduation or equivalent required.
• Phlebotomy program preferred.
• PBT(ASCP) certification required or eligible (to be obtained within 12 months of employment).
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association upon hire or within 30 days of start date and maintained throughout employment.

Responsibilities

• Performs venipunctures and capillary blood collections.
• Conducts point of care testing (POCT).
• Assists in training phlebotomy students and new employees.
• Supports department operations and integrates into the hospital workflow.
