Job summary

Northwest Texas Healthcare System in Amarillo seeks a Senior Phlebotomist to perform venipunctures, capillary collections and POCT under established policies. You will train phlebotomy students and new staff, while aligning with CAP, CLIA ’88 and Joint Commission standards to continuously improve patient care.

Qualifications

• High school education with phlebotomy training; two years of college education preferred.
• One year of full-time phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Certifications: ASCP or NCA preferred; current BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Performs venipunctures, capillary blood collections and POCT under hospital policies.
• Assists in training phlebotomy students and new employees.
• Ensures compliance with CAP, CLIA ’88 and Joint Commission requirements.
