Job summary

NYU Langone Health Florida is seeking a Phlebotomist to perform routine venipuncture and specimen collection in a hospital setting. You will prepare patients, explain blood draw procedures, and ensure accurate labeling and handling of specimens using the laboratory information system.

This role emphasizes patient privacy, infection control, and collaboration with clinical teams to maintain smooth patient flow and timely processing, with a comprehensive benefits package and ongoing competency

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; one year phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Phlebotomy certificate and/or Medical Assisting certification or equivalent experience.
• Strong English communication and interpersonal skills; ability to explain procedures to patients.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine phlebotomy following SOPs and patient safety standards.
• Label specimens accurately and manage STAT samples.
• Maintain infection control and cleanliness of rooms and equipment.
• Use EPIC to review and update patient laboratory records and coordinate with the care team.
