Job summary

NYU Langone Florida is seeking a Phlebotomist to perform routine blood collection via venipuncture or finger sticks, prepare patients, and explain procedures. The role requires working knowledge of the LIS/EPIC systems to process specimens and ensure accurate labeling.

Responsibilities include maintaining patient privacy, following infection control standards, and collaborating with clinical teams to support smooth patient flow and quality care in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or the equivalent required.
• 1 year of Phlebotomy experience performing venipunctures and finger sticks.
• Phlebotomy Certificate and/or Certification in Medical Assisting or equivalent experience.
• Appropriate interpersonal skills for interacting with patients, physicians, and other customers.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine Phlebotomy in a lab or patient area following SOPs.
• Labels specimens accurately and handles STAT specimens promptly.
• Maintains patient privacy and HIPAA compliance throughout procedures.
• Utilizes EPIC to review and update patient laboratory records and communicate with the team.
• Stocks rooms and supplies and ensures infection control standards are followed.
