Job summary

NYU Langone Florida is seeking a Phlebotomist to perform routine venipuncture and fingerstick blood collection in a clinical setting. You will prepare patients, explain the procedure, collect samples, and verify patient information using EPIC and related systems.

The role requires strong safety practices, infection control, and accurate labeling. Relevant phlebotomy experience and certs are preferred to support high-quality specimen handling.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or the equivalent required.
• Phlebotomy Certificate and/or Certification in Medical Assisting or equivalent experience.
• Practical knowledge of information system operations.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine Phlebotomy in a lab or patient area following SOPs.
• Labels specimens accurately and handles STAT specimens.
• Maintains patient privacy and HIPAA compliance during specimen handling.
• Uses EPIC to review and update patient records and communicate with team.
• Stocks rooms and supplies and coordinates with the Clinical Quality team.
