Job summary

Ashton North LLC is seeking a Phlebotomist for a 3-month contract in Farmville, VA, with potential for permanent placement. The role requires performing blood draws, labeling and processing specimens, and maintaining accurate data in a fast-paced lab environment.

You will demonstrate venipuncture techniques (including straight and butterfly needles), ensure OSHA/DEP compliance, and support daily operations by communicating clearly with patients and staff.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain the venipuncture process clearly to patients using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
• Package specimens for transport and ensure correct labeling and temperature controls.
• Adhere to OSHA and DEP regulations and participate in annual trainings.
