Mercy Health in Cincinnati is seeking a Phlebotomist to join our Laboratory Department. This PRN position draws blood, prepares specimens for testing and handles related clerical duties to keep the lab running smoothly.

The phlebotomist will greet patients, ensure accurate patient identification, enter data, and support specimen processing in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment. Commitment to teamwork and quality care is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Phlebotomist certification preferred but not required.
• One year phlebotomy experience preferred but not required.
• Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service by greeting patients and community in a respectful manner.
• Collect specimens according to established procedures from patients and ensure proper processing.
• Identify patients accurately and match identity with the correct service for patient safety.
• Perform data entry and processing of specimens (labeling, centrifuging, splitting, freezing) as ordered by tests.
• Handle clerical duties such as inventory checks, stocking, and answering phones as needed.
• Troubleshoot and resolve problems promptly.
• Other duties as assigned.
