Boston Medical Center is hiring a Lab Assistant I (Phlebotomist) to manage workflow and train new staff while ensuring quality specimen collection. This role requires a high school diploma and phlebotomy experience, with certification preferred.
The successful candidate will be responsible for various laboratory duties, including processing specimens and maintaining inventory levels. Benefits include health coverage and support for employee wellbeing.
This is a per diem position requiring flexible availability including weekends and holidays.
Performs, under minimal supervision, daily workflow management of the section. Training and competency of all new LTAs as well as phlebotomy students and makes recommendations on skill assessments. Works collaboratively to monitor phlebotomy status reports to provide phlebotomy services in a timely manner. May be required to perform the duties and responsibilities of LTA, Phlebotomist and/or CLA as required for patient care. Finds coverage when needed.
High School Diploma or Equivalent. Graduate of Phlebotomy Training program preferred.
Phlebotomy Certification preferred. ASCP certification or eligibility within a year.
Phlebotomy experience and lab experience required.
LabBMC Compensation Range: $19.72–$29.30 per hour.
