Qualificações

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
• One year phlebotomy experience or completion of a structured training program.
• AHA CPR certification required.
• Basic computer skills; Microsoft Office preferred.
• ASCP phlebotomy certification desired.
• Excellent interpersonal and telephone skills.
• Ability to organize and prioritize work independently.

Responsabilidades

• Enters and verifies test requests accurately and efficiently.
• Obtains, enters and verifies patient information accurately and efficiently.
• Assists with specimen storage, retrieval and disposal following standard precautions.
• Performs technical duties: processes specimens, slide processing, staining, plating.
• Prepares samples for transport to reference laboratory; manages logs.
• Provides telephone support for notification of non-critical values.
• Assists with inventory management and restocking of reagents and supplies.
• Takes daily temperatures of lab refrigerators, freezers, and incubators; maintenance checks.
• Supports supervisor with projects and tasks; trains new staff.
• Responsible for accurate specimen labeling and proper collection procedures.
• Greet patients and staff; ensure courteous, professional service.
• Performs data entry in laboratory information system; reports to physicians as needed.
