Job summary

Saint Joseph Health System is seeking a Staff Lab Assistant for the Day Shift at our Mishawaka facility. You will greet patients and providers, ensure accurate ordering and charge entry of outpatient and contracted laboratory orders, and support smooth lab operations in a high-volume setting.

Responsibilities include reviewing requisitions, ordering tests in the system, routing reports and specimens, and performing related paperwork to submit specimens.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED is required.
• Valid driver's license is required.
• Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review requisitions for completeness and ensure documentation (signatures, patient info, date) is present.
• Order tests in the computer according to procedure and transfer test information to medical records.
• Receive lab reports and route to designated areas; fax or deliver results promptly.
• Prepare laboratory specimens for designated departments and route to staging areas.
• Perform paperwork and procedures to process and submit specimens.
