Job summary

BayCare Health System in Riverview, FL seeks a Lab Medical Assistant II for a full-time role. The position involves collecting and processing specimens for testing, coordinating with nursing and physicians, and performing phlebotomy procedures as needed to ensure efficient lab operations.

The ideal candidate has at least 6 months of phlebotomy or lab experience and a high school diploma; a related bachelor\'s degree can substitute for experience. PRN shifts are available in this location.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

The Lab Medical Assistant II is responsible for:

• Collecting, receiving and processing of inpatient and outpatient specimens for testing
• Communications with nursing regarding patient specimens
• Referring specimens to outside laboratories
• Interaction with physicians, clients and staff regarding referral lab tests
• Performance of phlebotomy procedures
• Performs other duties as assigned

Experience:

• Required - 6 months Phlebotomy, Laboratory related; or related field

Education:

• Required High School or equivalent
• Or Bachelors related field in lieu of experience

Credentials:

• Driver's License

Credential equivalent experience:

• Preferred Phlebotomy
