Job summary

Saint Joseph Health System (Indiana) is seeking a Staff Lab Assistant to greet patients and providers, ensure accurate order entry, and route lab information for outpatient and contracted clients. You will review requisitions for completeness, enter tests in the system, and transfer data to medical records.

The role supports timely reporting of lab results, including STATs, and requires attention to documentation and patient information.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license preferred.
• 1–2 years phlebotomist experience preferred; knowledge of medical terminology.
• Customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet laboratory patients, providers, clients and customers.
• Ensure accurate ordering and charge entry of laboratory orders for outpatient and contracted clients.
• Review requisitions for completeness and proper documentation.
• Transfer test information to medical records and route lab reports.
• Call or fax results of STAT reports promptly.
