Job summary

TriCore Reference Laboratories seeks a Clinical Lab Assistant/Phlebotomist in Espanola, NM. The role supports independent work with minimal supervision and offers an apprenticeship track for candidates with no experience.

Duties include phlebotomy, specimen processing, and essential clerical tasks to ensure patient care and service quality. Successful candidates may begin at CLA levels based on modality competencies, with on-call coverage and weekend work as required by the department.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent required; PBT ASCP preferred.
• Completion of CLA program or comparable clinical lab training.
• Eligible to work in a health care facility; immunization requirements apply.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties in a professional and courteous manner.
• Maintain supplies and inventory for department.
• Observe students and/or new staff as needed.
• Demonstrate professional judgment when dealing with clients and colleagues.
• Handle on-call responsibilities and hospital communications as assigned.
• Provide accurate clerical/documentation support and call-ins when supervisor unavailable.
