Job summary

TriCore Reference Laboratories is seeking a Clinical Lab Assistant - Phlebotomist for Espanola, NM. The position supports phlebotomy and various modalities with a focus on accurate specimen handling and patient care.

Office hours are Mon-Fri 0500-1330 with potential weekends and on-call shifts. Apprenticeship options available for candidates without experience; compensation varies with modalities performed.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent is required.
• ASCP PBT certification or equivalent preferred.
• Completion of a Clinical Lab Assistant or comparable program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs duties in a professional and courteous manner.
• Maintains supplies and inventory needed for department functions.
• Exhibits problem solving skills to ensure patient care and service levels.
• Responsible for hospital communication duties, including on-call responsibilities by location.
• Demonstrates effective telephone and verbal communication.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient information.
• Participates in on-call coverage, holidays, evenings, and weekends as needed.
• Basic PC skills are required.
