Job summary

Saint Joseph Health System in Plymouth, IN is seeking a full-time Phlebotomist for the Day shift. You will obtain blood and other specimens per physician orders, verify patient ID, prepare the site and perform venipunctures with aseptic technique, then label and transport specimens to the Lab for analysis.

Requirements include HS diploma or GED; post-HS phlebotomy training preferred. PBT (ASCP) certification or equivalent and at least one year of experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required; post-HS phlebotomy training preferred.
• PBT (ASCP) Certification or equivalent preferred.
• At least one year of phlebotomy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

About the job:

The Phlebotomist is responsible for obtaining blood and other specimens for laboratory testing according to physician's orders. Obtains needed supplies, verifies patient Identification, prepares skin site and performs venipunctures according to established aseptic techniques. Labels specimen and transport it to Laboratory for analysis.

Requirements:

• Education:HS Diploma or GED equivalent. Post HS education through accredited phlebotomy training program preferred
• Licensure:PBT (ASCP) Certification or equivalent preferred Experience:At least one year of experience preferred.
