Job summary

Pride Health is hiring a Phlebotomist III - Floater for a local contract in Lynchburg, VA. The 13+ week assignment offers a chance to gain diverse experience in a fast-paced healthcare setting.

Responsibilities include venipuncture, specimen processing, and accurate labeling, with emphasis on pediatric and geriatric collections. The schedule is 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM, with mileage reimbursement available and pay between $21 and $23 per hour, depending on experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• 2–3 years of phlebotomy experience required.
• Experience with pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.

• Perform venipuncture and collect high-quality blood specimens from patients, including pediatric and geriatric patients.
• Perform capillary collections when required.
• Prepare and process clinical and forensic specimens according to established procedures.
• Verify patient demographic information and initials, and obtain the required patient signature after venipuncture to confirm proper specimen labeling.
• Ensure specimen labels are accurate and applied in the patient’s presence.
• Maintain accurate patient records and required documentation.

Pay Range: $21 to $23/hour* + Mileage Reimbursement

*Pay offered is based on experience, expertise, credentialing, and education.

Duties

• Perform venipuncture and collect high-quality blood specimens from patients, including pediatric and geriatric patients.
