Job summary

Ashtabula Regional Medical Center is seeking a phlebotomist to demonstrate accurate phlebotomy techniques across patient types. You will prioritize specimen handling, labeling, and distribution to labs while maintaining a courteous demeanor on calls.

A clean, organized work area with steady supply stock is expected. Qualification includes a high school diploma and phlebotomy expertise; LIS experience is preferred, with transportation capability for off-site collections.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; Phlebotomy expertise.
• Ability to work with LIS.
• Must provide own transportation for off-site collections.
• Clerical experience with phone, fax, copier and office software preferred.
• Medical terminology course preferred.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates phlebotomy skills with speed, safety and accuracy on all patient types.
• Prioritizes, accession, labels, and distributes specimens for testing to appropriate departments.
• Handles incoming calls with courtesy and efficiency.
• Maintains appearance of work area with cleanliness and adequate supply stock.
