Job summary

Quest Diagnostics in Trenton, MI is seeking a Phlebotomist II to collect specimens and support patient service areas in a fast-paced lab setting. The role includes set shifts: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday 8:30 AM–5:00 PM; Tuesday 10:00 AM–6:30 PM, with rotational Saturdays.

Qualifications

• Three years phlebotomy experience, inclusive of pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
• Keyboard/data entry experience.
• Flexible and available based on staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call and overtime.
• Must have reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record, if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens according to established procedures (drug screens, biometric screening, insurance exams).
• Administer oral solutions according to training.
• Research test/client information and verify orders using lab systems and approved tools.
• Navigate computer and accurately enter data as required.
• Obtain identification and enter billing information; collect payments per policy.
• Process specimens including labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing, and preparing for transport.
• Perform non-patient facing duties: inventory, stocking supplies, sanitizing, filing, answering phones, and emails.
• Read, understand, and comply with departmental policies, protocols, and procedures.
• Assist with compilation and submission of statistics and data.
• Maintain phlebotomy logs (maintenance logs, temperature logs).
• Complete online and in-person training courses timely.
