North Oaks Health System in Hammond, LA seeks a Phlebotomist II to collect blood specimens by venipuncture and capillary methods, ensuring specimen integrity and patient comfort. You will prep, label, process, and transport specimens, maintain logs, and assist with waived testing in a busy hospital lab.

The role requires High School graduate with ASCP PBT or LA license, plus at least one year phlebotomy experience.

Competenze

• High School Graduate required.
• One year phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Certification (PBT(ASCP) or LA license) required.

Mansioni

• Performs venipunctures, heel-sticks, and finger sticks following established procedures.
• Transcribes orders and performs related data-entry tasks for outpatient specimen collection.
• Identifies, labels, and dispatches specimens; centrifuges as needed.
• Provides direct patient care in a caring, professional manner.
• Follows aseptic principles and ensures equipment is clean and functioning.
• Maintains logs and required records; hands off information between shifts.
• Performs EKGs as ordered and collects throat, nasopharyngeal, and nasal specimens when needed.
• Performs waived testing as required.
