Job summary

Quest Diagnostics in Hawthorne, NJ seeks a Phlebotomist II to join our patient-focused team. The role requires collecting specimens, entering data accurately, and using lab systems; typical hours are Monday to Friday 8:00 AM–4:00 PM with rotation every other Saturday 8:00 AM–12:00 PM.

Candidates should have three years phlebotomy experience, a high school diploma, and medical training; California/Nevada/Washington locations note certification requirements.

Qualifications

• Three years phlebotomy experience required, inclusive of pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
• Keyboard/data entry experience.
• Flexible and available based on staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call and overtime.
• Must have reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and clean driving record, if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens according to established procedures.
• Administer oral solutions according to established training.
• Research test/client information and verify all orders using lab technology systems.
• Navigate a computer and accurately enter data.
• Obtain identification and enter billing information, collecting payments when required.
• Process specimens including labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing and preparing for transport.
• Perform non-patient facing duties: inventory, stock, sanitizing, filing, phones, email.
• Read and comply with departmental policies and procedures.
• Assist with compilation and submission of statistics and data.
• Maintain phlebotomy logs and frequency-based maintenance logs.
• Complete online and in-person training courses timely.
