The ideal candidate has three years of phlebotomy experience, strong computer/data-entry skills, and flexibility for shift coverage. A high school diploma is required; phlebotomy certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Three years phlebotomy experience required, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
• Keyboard/data entry experience.
• Flexible scheduling, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation, if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens according to established procedures.
• Administer oral solutions according to established training.
• Research test/client information and confirm/verify orders using lab systems.
• Navigate a computer and accurately enter data.
• Obtain identification and enter billing information and collect payments as needed.
• Process specimens including labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing and preparing for transport.
• Perform non-patient facing duties (inventory, stocking, sanitizing, filing, phones, email).
• Read, understand and comply with departmental policies and procedures.
• Assist with compilation and submission of statistics and data.
• Maintain phlebotomy logs (maintenance, temperature).
• Complete online and in-person training courses timely.
