Job description

Our Client, a Clinical Laboratory company, is looking for a Phlebotomist II for their Murfreesboro, TN location.

Responsibilities:

1. The main function of a phlebotomist is to assist in performing various assigned duties, troubleshooting, training, and making workflow recommendations.
2. Perform blood draws, label specimens, centrifuge specimens, record maintenance data, decontaminate, update patient information, etc.
3. Collect and store specimens according to established procedures.
4. Explain the venipuncture and specimen collection process clearly and courteously. Demonstrate techniques using straight or butterfly needles.
5. Fully understand all physicians' orders.
6. Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.
7. Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required.
8. Verify test requisitions or computer labels against scripts for accuracy.
9. Package specimens for transport.
10. Store specimen samples at required temperatures.

Requirements:

1. Experience collecting blood from 25-30 patients, check-in into the Touch system, handle payments, process samples, and prepare courier pickups.
2. At least 2 years of phlebotomy experience.
3. High School Diploma or GED.
