Quest Diagnostics is seeking a Phlebotomist I in Bakersfield, CA. The role runs Monday to Friday, 6:30 AM to 3:30 PM, with weekend rotation. A state phlebotomy license is required, and NHA licenses are not accepted in CA/WA/NV.

Pay range is $22.20 to $24.55 per hour, with potential annual bonus based on performance. Responsibilities include specimen collection, data entry, and processing, alongside patient or client interactions as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred. Required in California, Nevada, and Washington.

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens according to established procedures. This includes, but not limited to: drug screens, biometric screening and insurance exams.
• Administer oral solutions according to established training.
• Research test/client information and verify all orders using lab technology systems and client contact.
• Navigate a computer and accurately enter data.
• Obtain identification and enter billing information and collect payments following policies.
• Process specimens including labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing and transport preparation.
• Perform non-patient facing duties such as inventory, stocking, sanitizing, filing, phones and emails.
• Read, understand and comply with departmental policies, protocols and procedures.
• Assist with compilation and submission of statistics and data when required.
• Maintain phlebotomy logs including maintenance and temperature logs.
• Complete online and in-person training courses timely.
