Quest Diagnostics in Merced, CA is seeking a Phlebotomist I for a part-time role, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM with rotational weekends. The pay range is $21.80–$23.75 per hour, and offers may include an annual bonus based on performance. A state phlebotomy license is required; NHA licenses are not accepted in CA, WA, or NV.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in CA, NV, and WA.

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens according to established procedures, including drug screens and biometric exams.
• Administer oral solutions as trained.
• Research test/client information and verify orders using lab systems and approved tools.
• Navigate a computer and enter data accurately.
• Enter billing information and collect payments following policy.
• Process specimens: labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing and transport prep.
• Perform non-patient facing duties: inventory, stocking, sanitizing, filing, phones, email.
• Read, understand and comply with departmental policies and procedures.
• Assist with statistics and data submissions as required.
• Maintain phlebotomy logs and maintenance/temperature logs timely.
• Complete training courses timely.
