Job summary

Quest Diagnostics Incorporated in Grass Valley, CA, seeks a Phlebotomist I to collect specimens and perform related duties on a Monday to Friday schedule with rotating weekends. State phlebotomy license required; CA license required, NHA not accepted in CA.

Salary range is $22.20-$24.55 per hour, with eligibility for annual bonus and comprehensive benefits. Familiarity with lab systems, data entry, and patient interaction is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in CA, NV, WA.

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens according to established procedures (drug screens, biometric screening, insurance exams).
• Administer oral solutions according to training.
• Research test/client information and verify orders using lab systems and client contact.
• Navigate a computer and accurately enter data.
• Enter billing information and collect payments per policies.
• Process specimens: labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing, transport prep.
• Perform non-patient duties: inventory, stocking, sanitizing, filing, phones, email.
• Read, understand, and follow departmental policies and procedures.
• Assist with statistics and data submission as required.
• Maintain phlebotomy logs and maintenance logs.
• Complete training courses timely.
