Job summary

Octapharma Plasma, Inc. is seeking a Phlebotomist I to perform venipuncture and plasmapheresis procedures. The role emphasizes donor safety, quality control, and strict adherence to FDA, OSHA, CLIA, and GMP SOPs while delivering excellent donor service.

The candidate will set up equipment, maintain accurate records, and respond to machine alarms. This position requires attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to work day shifts with flexibility.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 3 months experience in a medical/health care environment preferred.
• Completed documentation of training prior to performing duties independently.

Responsibilities

• Execute venipunctures and plasmapheresis procedures with attention to safety and quality.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations (FDA SOPs, OSHA, CLIA, GMP).
• Maintain donor confidentiality and accurate donor identification per SOPs.
• Set up equipment and supplies for venipuncture and plasmapheresis; label units and samples accurately.
• Monitor donor conditions and ensure donor comfort and safety during procedures.
• Operate plasmapheresis machines, respond to alarms, document exceptions, and perform routine QC.
• Maintain logs and documentation; report unsafe conditions to management.
• Support training efficiencies and toolbox of process improvements.
• Perform regular maintenance/calibration of equipment and manage biohazard waste.
