Job summary

Octapharma Plasma, Inc. in Hudson, FL, is seeking a Phlebotomist I to execute plasmapheresis procedures, perform venipunctures, and ensure donor safety and quality of plasma.

You will follow FDA SOPs, maintain records, provide excellent donor service, and keep equipment calibrated and clean. Day shifts with potential evenings/weekends. Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced setting are essential.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Three months' experience in a medical/healthcare environment preferred.
  • Completion of training documentation prior to performing duties independently.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure total operation complies with state and federal regulations (FDA SOPs, OSHA, CLIA, GMP) to maintain high production standards and facility compliance.
  • Maintain a high level of customer service and positive donor experience.
  • Stock and replenish supplies to meet production needs and keep a clean, professional work area.
  • Review and confirm donor identification and maintain donor confidentiality per SOPs.
  • Set up and prepare equipment and disposables for venipuncture and plasmapheresis; label units and samples accurately.
  • Execute venipunctures and plasma collection with high quality and safety standards.
  • Operate automated plasmapheresis machines, monitor alarms, donor adverse events, and document exceptions.
  • Monitor donor conditions to ensure safety and plasma quality.
  • Maintain donor safety and product quality by proper ratio, disconnect donors, and dispose of biohazard waste per safety protocols.
  • Perform daily/weekly/monthly calibration and maintenance of machines; remove/replace equipment as needed.
  • Maintain thorough documentation including machine logs and report unsafe conditions to management.
  • Drive training efficiencies to ensure timeliness and compliance.
  • Troubleshoot machine alarms and perform daily/monthly quality checks on equipment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
