Job summary

Quest Diagnostics Incorporated in Whittier, CA is seeking a Phlebotomist I. The role requires a state phlebotomy license (NHA not accepted in CA). Work hours are 6:00 AM–3:00 PM, Monday to Friday, with rotational weekends.

Pay range is $24.00–$25.70/hour, with eligibility for annual performance bonuses. Benefits include comprehensive medical, dental, vision, wellness programs, retirement plans, and tuition assistance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in CA, NV, WA.
• One year phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Customer service in retail or service environments preferred.
• Keyboard/data entry experience.

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens according to established procedures (drug screens, biometric screening, insurance exams).
• Administer oral solutions according to training.
• Research test/client information and confirm orders using lab systems and client contact.
• Navigate a computer and enter data accurately.
• Obtain identification and enter billing information, collecting payments per policy.
• Process specimens: labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing, transport prep.
• Perform non-patient facing duties: inventory, stocking, sanitizing, filing, phones, email.
• Read and follow departmental policies, protocols and procedures.
• Assist with statistics data compilation and submission.
• Maintain phlebotomy logs (maintenance and temperature) timely.
• Complete online and in-person training courses timely.
