Quest Diagnostics is hiring a Phlebotomist Representative I for a hospital setting in Saint Joseph, MI. The role involves drawing blood, labeling and processing specimens, and maintaining phlebotomy areas. You will interact with patients and healthcare staff to ensure safe, accurate sample collection.

The position requires flexible scheduling including weekends and evenings, with potential shift differentials. Prior phlebotomy experience and a high school diploma are preferred.

Qualifications

• Demonstrate proficient phlebotomy skills including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
• Flexible schedule including weekends/holidays/overtime.
• Reliable transportation and valid driver's license if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection on patients of all age groups.
• Accurately label and process specimens according to laboratory protocol.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of phlebotomy carts and work areas.
• Administer oral solutions per training (e.g., Glucola).
• Data entry and processing of specimens including labeling, centrifuging, splitting, and freezing as required by test order.
• Perform related clerical duties such as data entry, inventory, stock, and answering phones.
• Follow departmental policies, manuals, and safety protocols; ensure staff adherence.
• Observe infection control and safety practices at all times.
• Maintain phlebotomy logs and related records in a timely manner.
• Complete training and stay updated on phlebotomy techniques.
