Job summary

Quest Diagnostics in Saint Joseph, MI is seeking a Phlebotomist I for an on-call role, Monday-Friday with rotational weekends, 1:30 pm–10:00 pm. The position offers shift differentials of 10% for some second shift hours and 15% for some third shift hours.

Responsibilities include collecting specimens, entering data into lab systems, and maintaining compliance with protocols. Required education includes a high school diploma; medical training or phlebotomy certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens according to established procedures (drug screens, biometric screening, insurance exams).
• Administer oral solutions according to training.
• Research test/client information and verify orders using lab systems and client contact.
• Navigate computer systems and enter data accurately.
• Enter billing information and collect payments when required following policies.
• Process specimens: labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing, transport as required.
• Perform non-patient facing duties: inventory, stock, sanitizing, filing, phones, email.
• Read and comply with policies and procedures.
• Assist with statistics and data submission.
• Maintain phlebotomy logs and temperature logs.
• Complete training courses timely.
