Job summary

Intermountain Health St George Regional Hospital is seeking a Phlebotomist I to accurately collect patient specimens for diagnostic testing in a fast-paced hospital setting. The role involves venipuncture, capillary puncture, PIVO, and throat swab collection across outpatient, emergency, and inpatient areas, with emphasis on safety and patient empathy.

Ideal candidates have 6 months of phlebotomy experience (or equivalent training) and a High School diploma.

Qualifications

• BLS certification is required.
• Six months of phlebotomy experience, phlebotomy training or national certification as approved by manager.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Accurately collect patient specimens for diagnostic testing.
• Follow safety, regulatory, and lab compliance standards.
• Communicate procedures and instructions with patients and families with empathy.
• Be prepared for on-call shifts and holiday rotations as needed.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment and navigate multiple computer systems.
