Job summary

Intermountain Healthcare Inc. is seeking a Phlebotomist I to accurately collect patient specimens for diagnostic testing in a professional medical environment. The role spans fast-paced hospital settings and high/low volume clinics, including inpatient, outpatient, and ED locations in Billings, MT.

The position emphasizes safety, regulatory compliance, and compassionate communication with patients and families, with opportunities to grow through training and mentoring staff.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent, Preferred.
• Six months of phlebotomy experience, phlebotomy training or national certification as approved by manager/supervisor. Preferred.
• Physical requirements include seeing, reading labels, lifting and maneuvering equipment; ability to work in fast-paced clinical settings.

Responsibilities

• Collect patient specimens for diagnostic testing following established best practices.
• Perform venipuncture, capillary puncture, PIVO, and throat swab collections across Outpatient, Emergency Department, and Inpatient areas.
• Communicate procedures with patients and families, demonstrating empathy and ensuring safety and compliance.
