Job summary

1810 Wentworth-Douglass Hospital is seeking a part-time Phlebotomist for 20 hours per week. Shifts are 4:00 am–8:00 am, Monday through Friday, with every 3rd weekend rotation. The role involves collecting blood specimens, accurate labeling, and supporting patient care with a strong emphasis on privacy and safety.

Experience in phlebotomy is preferred (1–2 years not required). Education requirement is a high school diploma or equivalent.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Completion of a phlebotomy course preferred.
• Experience: No experience required.
• HIPAA regulations compliance and patient privacy.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Obtain quality blood samples for all age groups using phlebotomy techniques.
• Ensure accurate patient identification and proper labeling, processing and transport of specimens.
• Provide training and education to new staff and students as assigned.
• Maintain safety with sharps and biohazardous materials per regulations.
• Communicate with patients and care teams to ensure satisfaction and address concerns.
