Job summary

Quest Diagnostics in Hamden, CT is seeking a Phlebotomist I to join a Monday–Friday 8:00 AM–4:30 PM schedule with every other Saturday 6:30 AM–11:00 AM. The pay range is $21.60–$23.15 per hour.

The role requires collecting specimens, validating orders, data entry, and handling payments per policy. A high school diploma is required; medical training and phlebotomy certification are preferred (certs may be required in certain states).

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in CA, NV, WA).
• Ability to communicate effectively in English.
• Keyboard/data entry experience.

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens according to established procedures.
• Administer oral solutions according to training.
• Verify test/client orders using lab technology systems and client contact.
• Navigate computer systems and enter data accurately.
• Obtain billing information and collect payments when required following policies.
• Process and prepare specimens for transport (labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing).
• Perform non-patient facing duties (inventory, sanitation, filing, phones, email).
• Maintain phlebotomy logs and complete training courses timely.
