Job summary

Quest Diagnostics in Visalia, CA is seeking a Phlebotomist I to join our team. The role supports specimen collection, lab operations, and patient interaction on a Monday–Friday schedule with rotational weekends, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

Candidates must hold a state phlebotomy license; CA requires phlebotomy certification and excludes NHA licenses. The position offers eligibility for annual incentives based on performance and company benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Medical training preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
• One year phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Customer service experience in retail or service environment preferred.
• Keyboard/data entry experience.

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens according to established procedures.
• Administer oral solutions according to established training.
• Research test/client information and verify orders using lab technology systems and approved tools.
• Navigate a computer and accurately enter data.
• Obtain identification and enter billing information and collect payments when required, following corporate policies.
• Process specimens including labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing, and preparing for transport.
• Perform non-patient facing duties, including inventory, stocking supplies, sanitizing, filing, answering phones and using email.
• Read, understand and comply with departmental policies, protocols and procedures.
• Assist with compilation and submission of statistics and data when required.
• Maintain phlebotomy logs in a timely manner and per frequency, such as maintenance and temperature logs.
• Complete online and in-person training courses timely.
