Job summary

Mass General Brigham’s Newton-Wellesley Hospital seeks a phlebotomist to collect blood specimens for laboratory testing and ensure accurate labeling and timely transport. You will collaborate with care teams to identify patients and address concerns in a respectful, compliant environment.

Onsite role with a 10:30am–7pm schedule and rotating weekends; strong customer service and clear communication are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Completion of phlebotomy course preferred.
• License: Class D Driver's License preferred (HR).

Responsibilities

• Obtains quality blood samples using phlebotomy methods for all ages.
• Ensures accurate patient identification, labeling, processing, and transport of specimens.
• Assists in patient care emergencies in inpatient settings as needed.
• Communicates procedures clearly to patients and care teams to ensure satisfaction.
• Handles sharps and biohazardous materials per regulatory requirements.
• Works with computer programs and HIPAA-compliant systems.
